Next Week’s Sermon: November 14/15

Gratitude for Grace: Worth / All too often, we base our worth on how productive we are in life. If you’re getting things done, you feel worthy of praise. If not…well… It’s so easy to focus on this in the story of the talents that Jesus tells. Those who bring back more talents to the master are told “Well done, good and faithful servant!” The one who did nothing is called “You wicked servant!” Is it all about their investing? Or is something else going on here…something about the talents…something about the master…something about his generosity? As we begin our series “Gratitude For Grace”, we give thanks that our productivity for the kingdom of God does not enter the picture when it comes to our worthiness before God, but the riches of His grace to us in Jesus. And that grace frees us to live and serve in His kingdom with great joy! To prepare for worship, read Matthew 25:14-30.
