Next Week’s Sermon: November 1/2

The Blessed / How are we blessed by Jesus? Is it because of our efforts to be poor in spirit, to properly mourn, to be meek, etc.? Or is it because we have absolutely nothing to offer? When Jesus says, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”, He’s not issuing a rally cry to become something. Rather, He is proclaiming a grace-filled truth: when we have nothing in and of ourselves spiritually, Jesus fills us with everything. That’s blessed. That’s what a saint is. Come and hear the Good News of how blessed you are in Jesus! To prepare for worship, read Matthew 5:3-12.
