Next Week’s Sermon: May 30/31
All Witnesses / As we celebrate the Holy Trinity (one God, three persons) this weekend, we too often focus on the “who”: who the Father is, who the Son is, who the Holy Spirit is…and how are they one God? But as Peter continues his message during the feast of Pentecost, his focus is not so much on who the Trinity is, but on what this God does…and why. The Father sends His Son to die and rise for all sin. Ascended into heaven, both Jesus and the Father send the Holy Spirit to give new life to sinners through the resurrected Jesus. As Peter says, “we all are witnesses.” Indeed, we are! As disciples of Jesus, we bear witness to the world of the love, mercy and salvation Jesus gives. These are the three persons in one God at work! Come and celebrate new life in the triune God! To prepare for worship, read Acts 2:14a, 22-36.
