Next Week’s Sermon: August 30/31
Come Up Here / We all seek status; we all want to be honored by others. But do we seek this by putting ourselves forward…or being invited in? At a royal feast in ancient Israel, God’s Word offers a proverb of wisdom: “It is better to be told, ‘Come up here…’ Rather than seeking the places of honor in the Lord’s kingdom, we humbly wait as sinners to be invited higher by the gracious love of our King, Jesus. “Come up here” is the Good News we receive, live by and share. To prepare for worship, read Proverbs 25:6-7b.
